Nasolabial Folds

Nasolabial Folds

OVERVIEW
PRICING
Also known as the “smile line”, the nasolabial fold is the deep crease that funs down either side of the nose towards the corners of the mouth. This fold is created by the constant movement of the mouth, and, although it is most certainly attractive to have a little crease here, when it begins to get deep, it can make a person look older than she/he really is.

As we get older, fat is lost from the cheeks, which results in a reduced skin volume that makes the fold appear deeper. It’s called the “smile line” because repeated smiling can result in deep, permanent creases in this area – especially on those who have a “big smile”.

Correction of nasolabial folds can be achieved through injections of dermal filler into the surrounding area, softening the appearance of the creases and restoring the lost volume. The ultimate goal of the treatment is to smooth out the skin and leave the face with a younger, refreshed appearance.

As with all fillers, the treatment is not permanent, and will require periodical revisits with the physician to have the areas refilled. However, the effects are immediate, and will last for several months.
